The Real God - Stromatolites!

We have all read stories in some religion or the other about how God created earth and the lifeforms in it. But as much as I would like to respect our religions for giving us hope, we know very well that there is a complex science behind the creation of all lifeforms. In fact, the real credit can be given to stromatolites. Its actually the simplest of all lifeforms, a bacteria.

We humans have inhabited this planet only for a few million years but the earth is almost five thousand million years old. Back then, earth had no life because the atmosphere didn't have oxygen. This is where the stromatolites came in. It is their magic that we read about in our Science books. They introduced the process of photosynthesis and thus gave oxygen to earth. The rest as they say, is history.

Our atmosphere is a complex phenomenon. It holds the history of our planet, it influences the present lifeforms in this planet and it can give a sneak peak into the future of this planet. Today, I got an opportunity to watch a BBC production called 'The Power of the Planet'. It is a 5 episode series explaining how our planet works. It doesn't just give you the information, but it gift-wraps this information in some amazing experiments and breath-taking visuals. This will give you a whole new perspective of our world. Take a small break from our immaterial lives and watch this amazing series.

Yet Another Rant about Friends Quitting Gaming!

For days I wanted to make a post about a lot of things. I wanted to post about how most Indian Oil petrol bunks try to cheat the customers by distracting them just before filling the tank. I wanted to post about my favourite game Tetris and the various spin-offs of Tetris that were listed in this website. I wanted to post about Inception (Nolan's upcoming film) and how its trailer is awesome and how even the cast of his movie didn't understand what the movie was about while it was being made. I even wanted to post about google's efforts at providing broadband connection which is currently being tested in US. All these seemed like interesting and potential blog posts which might interest any normal surfer of the net. But I didn't post any of them.

You see, those were just random news that I thought would make an interesting topic but I didn't really feel the need to post about them. But today, I decided to make a post even though I don't have anything in particular to say. Why then did I do it, you ask? Well, its rather pretty simple, really. I'm upset.. :D

There are various reasons for me to be delightful today. For one, today I decided to buy a new bike. I have set my eyes on Bajaj Avenger and the best part is probably that I'm going to buy one with my own money. Considering how I love bikes, this alone should make me very happy. Besides this, the google ad that I installed in my website a week ago has started to churn in some revenue. I'm gonna earn my first dollar from my website. Sounds like a good day, doesn't it?

Well, something else happened today which rather disturbed me. A couple of days back I met Abishek and he suggested a night-out. I tried to arrange one today and a few like Bharath and Sathya were interested and some guy whom I barely knew, called me up to say that he is interested in joining us. But to my surprise, Vijay wasn't interested. We have been playing together for a very long time now. I mean, it is common for him to not be able to attend but for him to not be interested in a game of DotA together after a long time, is just sad. I was caught completely off-guard when he said that he wants to hang out with friends and that he doesn't wanna play DotA. I had for long been thinking that night-outs were all about hanging out with friends & having fun. I mean, what else was it about, considering that we stopped competitive gaming almost an year ago.

People seem strange when you don't understand their actions. Hell, I doubt that even he understands his actions.. Oh well! That was yet another rant about my friends quitting gaming. I really should stop posting these rants, I think. I guess its time to move on. But I just can't stop feeling sad.. :(

Back to my Routine Life!

I have returned home after spending almost two months at Trivandrum. I must say, I had a good time there. I had a couple of my classmates with me at the lodge and so, I was never alone. I made new friends with people not just from Chennai but from Hyderabad and even Calcutta. I will miss the sound of bullet bikes going up the steep roads. I think I will even miss the daily walk to the hotel for dinner with friends. Somehow, a change from the routine life in Chennai felt good. The whole experience was something worth cherishing in memory thanks to the people who stayed with me at the lodge. Thank you guys..

Then again, I wouldn't wanna stay there forever. Now that I'm back in front of my computer, I love my routine life even more. My Quad core computer, my CT100 bike, Zion gaming cafe, oh yes!! Home Sweet Home! Now more than ever, I feel a sudden urge to get off my ass and do something. Earlier, I used to be very enthusiastic about things but now, I believe I have went one step further. I'm not quite sure how to express it but here is what I have in mind..

I'm going to work on further improving my website, eSportsIndia.com. I'm going to create log-in features and thus take the site to the next level. If eSports does improve in India, then I will be there to help it grow! Muhahaha!
